Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By downloading, installing, or using the No-Typing application, you accept these terms in full.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website located at no-typing.com (the "Site") and downloading, installing, or using the No-Typing macOS application (the "Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site or the Software.

2. Open-Source License

No-Typing is free and open-source software. The Software is made available under the terms of its open-source license as published in the project's repository. You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute the Software in accordance with the terms of that license.

  • Free of Charge: No-Typing is provided completely free of charge. There are no license fees, subscription tiers, or in-app purchases required to use the Software.
  • Source Code: The full source code of the Software is publicly available. You may review, audit, fork, and contribute to the project in accordance with the open-source license.
  • Community Contributions: We welcome community contributions. All contributions to the project are subject to the project's contribution guidelines and open-source license.

3. Third-Party Services and Remote Data Processing

No-Typing integrates with optional third-party cloud services to provide enhanced transcription, text-to-speech, and AI-powered features. When you choose to use these services, your data is transmitted to and processed by the respective third-party providers. By enabling any of these services within the Software, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Deepgram (Speech-to-Text): When Deepgram is selected as your transcription provider, your audio data is sent to Deepgram's servers for processing. Deepgram's handling of your data is governed by Deepgram's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Groq (Speech-to-Text / AI): When Groq is selected as a transcription or AI provider, your audio data or text is sent to Groq's cloud infrastructure for processing. Groq's handling of your data is governed by Groq's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
  • ElevenLabs (Text-to-Speech): When ElevenLabs is used for text-to-speech features, your text data is sent to ElevenLabs' servers for audio synthesis. ElevenLabs' handling of your data is governed by ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • AI Rewrite Services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, and others): No-Typing offers optional AI-powered text rewriting and enhancement features. When you use these features, your transcribed text is sent to the selected AI provider's API (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or Groq) for processing. Each provider's handling of your data is governed by their own respective privacy policies and terms of service. You are responsible for reviewing and agreeing to these terms before enabling these services.

Your API Keys: To use these third-party services, you must provide your own API keys. No-Typing does not provide, broker, or resell access to any third-party service. Your API keys are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to No-Typing's servers.

Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your use of third-party services, any costs incurred from API usage, and for ensuring your use complies with each provider's terms and policies. No-Typing is not liable for any data processing, data retention, or data breaches that occur on third-party platforms.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

The No-Typing name, logo, and branding are owned by the No-Typing project. The Software's source code is licensed under its open-source license. Third-party components and libraries included in the Software retain their respective licenses and copyrights.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. NO-TYPING EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ALL WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON AN UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE BASIS, OR WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL CODE, COMPLETE, LEGAL, OR SAFE.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NO-TYPING, ITS CONTRIBUTORS, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD-PARTY FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, COSTS OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS, OR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR SOFTWARE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THIS INCLUDES ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF THIRD-PARTY TRANSCRIPTION, TEXT-TO-SPEECH, OR AI SERVICES. ACCESS TO, AND USE OF, THE SITE AND SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which No-Typing operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
